With the keywords "byu acm high school" it comes up as number one.

Even with only "byu acm", it pops up as the 2.5th result, under the ACM home page. I'd still say that is a success.
Here's some stuff I did:
- Used the meta-tag analyzer at http://www.scrubtheweb.com/cgi-bin/webtools/meta-check.cgi to soup up my meta tags. A lot of the information on the page was only for members, but it gave me an idea of how many words should be in my meta tags, title tags, etc.
- Looked at the hints at http://www.websitepromotion.net.au/google/optimizing-websites-for-google.html.
- Created a robots.txt file like this:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
I'm not sure how effective this was.. but it may have had an impact.
see http://www.robotstxt.org/robotstxt.html - I also linked to the site from this blog (the previous post) and from the ACM.byu.edu website. That may have had the biggest impact on the results order. Perhaps I had to wait until the bots crawled the ACM website or my blog page and found it.
